Cara Junior School is a special school for pupils aged 4-12 years who have a dual diagnosis of ASD and an Intellectual Disability between the Mild to Moderate range. There are currently 11 class teachers and 35 Special Needs Assistants employed in the school.

Cara Junior School is committed to providing a quality education for pupils with Autism and highly complex needs using a range of child-centred Autism specific education approaches.
Knowledge of IEP planning is required and also the development of individual behaviour support plans as necessary. It would be desirable that candidates should have experience of teaching young children with Autism in a special school setting.
