Description:
St. Nicholas Montessori College is a QQI accredited Higher Education Institute specialising in education and related disciplines. This position is a senior role in the College, leading a Level 8 B.A. Hons programme which is recognised by the Teaching Council of Ireland. The Programme Director will also have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future development and direction of the College.
The role includes academic and faculty leadership, programme development, teaching, school placement management (in primary schools), quality assurance and enhancement and research.
We are looking for an experienced educator who has the enthusasium and commitment to match our vision for the development of the College and the Society as a whole. Ideally you will have experience of higher education programme management, be a qualified primary school teacher and an understanding of Montessori philosophy and methodologies, particularly as they apply to the 6 to 12 age group. You must have a minimum of a Level 9 (Master's) award in a relevant discipline and preferably a PhD or be working towards one. Experience of accreditation and management of QQI and/or teacher education programmes would be highly beneficial.
