This is a maternity position.
St. Catherine's special school caters for pupils with moderate, severe, profound LD and Autism with complex needs. The pupils range from 4-18 years. Applicants should have minimum qualifications as per DES Circular 44/2014.

Essential competencies for this job are: Experience of working with pupils with Autism and Intellectual disability. Working as part of a team and participating in school activities. Training in MAPA, Lamh, PECS, behaviour management, communication, ACC devices, ABA and positive behaviour support is advantageous.

Candidates must be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment. The successful candidate must be willing to engage in relevant CPD, have a strong work ethic and respect the ethos of the school. Duties may include assisting pupils in the swimming pool and assisting on out-of-school visits, walks and similar activities. The successful candidate might be required to assist in catering for the purpose of a specific pupil.
