Experience of working with a range of care needs. Ideally
candidates should have previous experience of working with
pupils with autism, ADHD, EBD and/or special class
experience. Candidates should be able to demonstrate from
previous employment; a good rapport with pupils, flexibility,
ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training/upskilling.
The escorts will accompany pupils on specialised transport from their homes to and from school.
The bus escort must be available in the mornings from approximately 8.30am to 9am and from 1.40pm to approximately 2pm during school term. (These are guide
times only and are subject to change depending on need).
Escorts must have their own transport to and from the drop
off point agreed with the bus contractor.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the pupils on board
the bus and will be required to provide for pupil care needs
including but not limited to assisting them getting on and off
the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etc.
Routes vary but are located mainly within the catchment
areas of South Tipperary initially.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to satisfactory
references, current Garda vetting requirements, an
occupational health screening and Tusla child safeguarding
training.
