St. Anthony’s School caters for children aged 4-18 years with Mild/Moderate GLD and other conditions such as ASD, various Syndromes, Physical Disability and/or Sensory Impairments.
This post is to teach students music skills and appreciation of a variety of musical styles and genres in a fun enjoyable way for 3 hours per week. The students also learn basic instrument skills (eg tin whistle) and sing in the school choir. Some students may be able to undertake practical music exams so experience in this is desirable.
Teachers proposed for the appointment must hold current registration with the Teaching Council and hold qualifications appropriate to teaching music at Post Primary level. Teachers who are registered with the Teaching Council as “Further Education” are not deemed appropriately qualified for the purposes of delivery of part time specialist hours in Special Schools.
