These permanent positions were initially advertised to the supplementary panel to no avail. Initial duties are teaching Pupils in an ASD Class setting. The Board of Management reserves the right to place the teacher in any teaching position based on the needs of the school.
Candidates must have experience of teaching children with Autism and complex needs, preferably in an ASD special class and be familiar with the relevant teaching strategies and methodologies.
Teaching experience in an ASD class setting and knowledge of ASD specific strategies and supports such as TEACCH, PECS, Lámh, ABA, MAPA would be an advantage. Experience with challenging behaviour, intimate care needs and the ability to work as part of a team is a necessity in order to facilitate successful integration.
A strong knowledge of the Continuum of Support process as well as a passion for highly differentiated teaching is a requirement. Knowledge of the planning and implementation of teaching methodologies e.g. LLO, Guided Reading, Mata sa Rang and familiarity with Aistear and the new language curriculum is essential.
The successful candidates must be ready to start school for a Staff Training day on Tues 27th of August 2019. The school opens to children on Wed 28th August.

The Teaching posts available are; 2 Permanent positions, further temporary positions may be filled from this round of recruitment. Please clearly mark on the envelope 'Teacher application'.
These posts are for an ordinary school with 6 mainstream classes, 4 SET positions and 2 ASD classes. Teacher allocation for the 2019/2020 academic year will be decided following the recruitment process.
