Carrick NS is seeking to appoint a Bus Escort to commence 31st August 2018 as sanctioned by the Department of Education - school doors open at 9.10am and finishes at 2pm and 3pm so applicants need to be available to board the bus at the school before these times in order to travel between Ballyhaunis and Ballinlough around these times. Garda vetting will also be compulsory. Successful applicant will accompany pupils on bus transport and will liaise with parents, drivers, teachers & SNAs. The escort will be responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to assist them getting on and off the bus and securing appropriate seat-belts.
No official qualifications are required but an understanding of children with Special Needs is important and the escort must have a caring disposition.
Desirable Experience:
• Working with pupils with special needs.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
