St. John of God Special School, Islandbridge caters for pupils aged 4 to 18 years with moderate, severe and profound intellectual disability and for pupils presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

St John of God School is seeking to appoint a Bus Escort to commence September 2018. The escort will accompany pupils on specialised bus transport from their homes to and from the school. No official qualifications are required but an understanding of children with Special Needs is important and the escort must have a caring disposition. The successful canditate will be Garda Vetted. The escort will be responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to assist them getting on and off the bus and securing appropriate seat-belts and wheelchair straps.


Desirable Experience:
• Working with pupils with special needs.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
