An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Special class teacher required for St. Christopher's Special School. St. Christopher's Special. School caters for pupils aged 4-18 with a Moderate General Learning Disability, pupils with a Severe/Profound General Learning Disability and pupils with Autism & within the Moderate to Severe range of GLD. Many pupils have additional complex needs and/or multiple disabilities and highly complex medical needs including life limiting illness-relevant experience is highly desirable. Experience working with Autism and/or pupils with Severe/ Profound learning needs in a special school setting is an advantage. The successful applicant should demonstrate
experience and competency in the use of AAC technologies for pupils within the above categories of needs. Experience working with teenage pupils who display behaviours of concern is essential.
