The Board of Management of Scoil Eoin invites applications for the position of Administrative Deputy Principal Teacher, commencing Monday November 2nd, 2026. Scoil Eoin is a large, vibrant Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kerry. The successful candidate will be somebody who is
committed to the ethos of Catholic education and will work to nurture the faith and learning community of the school in partnership with staff, parents, and the wider community.
The Board seeks a Deputy Principal who will:
- Uphold and strengthen the Mercy ethos of the school
- Place children’s welfare, learning, and holistic development at the centre of every decision.
- Show a commitment to learning, teaching, and inclusion
- Demonstrate proven ability to lead teaching and learning, embedding whole-school approaches that raise standards.
- Be an effective administrator and communicator, managing resources and systems efficiently (including IT)
- Demonstrate proven skill and expertise in the use of IT
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills by showing excellent communication skills and ability to foster positive relationships
- Demonstrate collaborative leadership skills
- Demonstrate a proven deep understanding of, and commitment to, the provision of a high standard of special education

The appointment is being made under the terms of Circular 0044/2019, is an open competition & the roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains outlined below:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
Appointment will be subject, but not limited to: satisfactory references; Teaching Council registration; current vetting requirements and Occupational Health screening.
