An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Monageer N.S. invites applications for the position of Special Needs Assistant (SNA) to cover a maternity leave.
The successful candidate will work as part of the school team to support the care needs, inclusion and wellbeing of pupils.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A caring, patient and child-centred approach.
- Good initiative and flexibility.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- An understanding of autism and the needs of children with additional needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to supporting the inclusion and participation of pupils in school life.
- The ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher, SET and other SNAs.
Experience of working with children with autism and/or additional needs is desirable as this post will be in our autism class primarily.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the duties of an SNA in accordance with the needs of the pupils and the direction of the Principal and class teacher.
Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting, satisfactory references, Occupational Health Screening and the completion of all relevant Department of Education requirements.
