Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Candidates are invited to apply for two contracts. The first contract is a full-time, permanent post and the second is 5 hours permanent coupled with a 0.5 fixed-term contract for the remainder of this school year 2026/27.The successful candidates may be deployed in either a mainstream class or in an autism class, this is at the Principal's discretion.
Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, able to work both on their own initiative and in a team capacity. All school staff are expected to engage in relevant CPD and respect the school's ethos.
Previous experience of working with children with autism, EBD or complex needs is desirable. An additional qualification in additional/special needs and/or education would be advantageous. Other qualifications such as First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, PECS, Lámh etc would be of benefit also.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening and completion of Children First online training.
