An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

We are a mainstream school with two Autism classes. This is a new position arising from one of our Autism classes. This role involves ensuring the safe transportation of pupils to and from school each day. Specific local arrangements between the escort and the driver for collection and drop off will be made once the successful candidate is appointed.
The hours of work (depending on pick up point for escort)
Morning: Approx 8.00 - 9.00 am
Afternoons: Approx. 15:00 - 16:00
Responsibilities: Accompany and supervise children on their journey to and from school, ensuring their safety while travelling and facilitate a safe handover with school staff and parents/guardians.


Ten Hours per week during school term. Salary: €15.98 per hour and in line with Department of Education and Youth guidelines for school bus escorts.

Experience Required: Experience of working with children with additional needs desirable but not essential. Must be kind, caring and patient and work well with children. The successful candidate will require good communication skills as they will be working daily with children, liaising with parents, school staff and the driver.
Candidates are encouraged to include details of any relevant professional development, such as First Aid or Manual Handling training.

All appointments are subject to Garda Vetting, an occupational health check, reference verification, and completion of Tusla Children First training, in accordance with Department of Education guidelines.
