An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Monksland N.S. is looking to employ a bus escort in a part-time capacity to facilitate transport of children enrolled in the Autism Classes beginning Thursday, 27th August 2026.
The successful candidate(s) will be required to work for approximately 3 hours daily (Morning & Afternoon) at Department of Education rates (hours of work will be confirmed when the bus route is confirmed annually).
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
* escorting children safely to and from Monksland N.S.
* liaising with parent(s)/guardian(s) and staff daily.
* assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport.
* ensuring that all children are seated with appropriate straps and harnesses where provided
* ensuring that each pupil is received by the responsible person at the set down point.
Escorts must be:
* sensitive and respectful in all dealings with pupils, parent(s)/guardian(s), school staff and bus driver(s)
* in a position to rendezvous with the bus driver at an agreed location
* available to work in keeping with the school calendar
Successful applicant(s) will be required to be Garda Vetted prior to commencement of the post and complete relevant Children First Online Training.
Successful applicants will be required to work each day the school is open. 182 days in the school year and also be available for 10 days July Provision each year.
Basic First Aid, Manual Handling training/experience is desirable.
