An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Rosedale School provides an educational service for pupils aged 3 to 18 years with severe and profound learning disabilities in Galway City. Many of our pupils also present with significant physical disabilities, complex medical needs, behaviours of concern and autism.
Applications are being invited for the posts of 2 Fixed Term posts and a maternity post-start date unconfirmed for maternity post
Other substitute hours may be filled form this competition also.
A Minimum of 1 years experience of working in a special school for pupils with severe/profound learning disability is essential. The successful candidate should have
Appropriate Teaching Council Registration, Knowledge and understanding of the Primary School Curriculum, Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle Level 1 Programmes.
An understanding of the Relate approach and Low arousal techniques
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Have experience of managing behaviours of concern and working with pupils with complex profiles
