An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Fixed Term post arising from a job share arrangement.
Dromtrasna NS is a mixed Catholic School with one Autism class. The successful candidate must hold the appropriate Certificate to teach Catholic Religious Education. This vacancy is for a one-year Fixed Term contract.

This appointment is subject to satisfactory references, OHS screening, TC registration, and Garda vetting.
The successful candidate must be available for induction on the 25th August ahead of the school reopening on Wednesday, 26th August 2026.
The following skills, knowledge and dispositions are highly desirable:
- Knowledge and familiarity implementing the Special Education Guidelines and Indicators of Effective Practice and the role of the mainstream class teacher in supporting the work of the SET
- Evidence of familiarity and understanding of the diverse needs of pupils in schools (ASD, Down Syndrome, Speech & Language, literacy, numeracy, social emotional, EAL, etc.) and the application of best practices in teaching, learning and assessment
- Evidence of CPD and a commitment to completing CPD in line with the needs of the school
- A knowledge of the Primary Curriculum Framework and the implications for practice in teaching, learning and assessment
- Applicants should have excellent communication skills, a clearly demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the promotion of student voice, they should be diligent, enthusiastic and innovative teachers who are willing to get involved in our whole school community and contribute to the overall development of the school.
