ABACAS Kilnamanagh is a special school for children with Autism and Complex Needs between the age of 4-18. We are seeking an exceptional Special Needs Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic professional who is passionate about supporting autistic pupils through neuroaffirming, evidence-based practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of continuous professional development (CPD), embrace collaborative working, and be willing to make a positive contribution to all aspects of school life.
Essential Requirements
* Significant experience supporting pupils with Autism, communication differences, and complex needs.
* Strong knowledge and application of positive behaviour support and low arousal approaches.
* Experience supporting pupils who present with behaviours of concern.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
At ABACAS, staff work within a highly supportive multidisciplinary environment alongside experienced teachers, SNAs, an onsite Behaviour Practitioner, and visiting professionals. Our practice is informed by extensive collaboration with the Middletown Centre for Autism and the NCSE, with a strong commitment to neuroaffirming approaches and unconditional positive regard for every child.
