An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Joseph's Special School has 12 classes currently, made up of three Primary classes for students with Mild General Learning Disability, five Post Primary classes for students with Mild General Learning Disability and four classes specifically for Autistic students with a General Learning Disability. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each student and we offer access to the primary curriculum, Junior Cycle and LCA.

We are looking for a Permanent Special Class Teacher to join our team either as a Class teacher or as to take on an exceptional Teacher position providing 1:1 teaching for specific students with distinct needs.

We also have 3 Fixed Term Special Class Teacher vacancies and 2 substitute vacancies, 1 for a maternity and one covering parental leave.

While not essential, experience and qualifications in supporting students with additional needs is desirable.
