St. Patrick's School provides education for students aged 4–18 years with moderate, severe, and profound intellectual disabilities. Many of our students have additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex medical needs.
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and collaborative teacher to join our committed team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a student-centred approach to teaching and learning, work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and be committed to supporting the diverse educational, communication, social, emotional, and care needs of our students.
Our school delivers the Primary School Curriculum for primary-aged pupils. At post-primary level, students engage with the Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Learning Programmes and the Senior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Learning Programmes, providing meaningful and individualised learning pathways.
Experience or knowledge of the following is desirable:
PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
Lámh Signing System
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training and de-escalation strategies
Experience supporting students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and complex needs
Collaborative practice within multidisciplinary teams
Training and ongoing professional development will be provided where required.
