An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Ballinabranna National School is looking for a bus escort to accompany children with additional needs to our school.
The bus picks up the escort from school and makes the journey to collect the children. The children are brought home after school and the bus escort returns to the pick up point, namely the school.
School begins at 9:20. Applicants would need to be available in the morning for approx. 2 hours before school and after school from 2pm for a further 2 hours approx.– during term time only.
The current hourly rate, set by the Department of Education, is €15.98 per hour. (+ 8% Holiday Pay)
Duties will include escorting children to and from Ballinabranna National School, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport, ensuring that all children are seated safely and ensuring that each pupil is received by a responsible person at the set down point.
Previous experience working with children with special needs would be an advantage but is not essential.
Position is subject to Garda vetting and Occupational Health screening by the school.
