Scoil Cholmcille invites applications for the part time position (three days per week) for a Ukrainian Hours sanctioned Support Post.
The successful candidate will be required to work with pupils from Ukraine and other affected war torn countries to enable them to transition and access the Irish Primary education programme and curriculum. Teaching settings will include special class/ mainstream and Support depending on the needs of the school and pupils.
The successful candidates will demonstrate flexibility, initiative, professionalism and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a highly effective team in supporting pupils and parents from Ukraine and other affected countries.
The following experience, skills and attributes are advantageous:
• Relevant experience supporting pupils from war torn countries.
• Working Knowledge of a number of European languages.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work effectively with school staff, parents and external professionals.
• A commitment to supporting the dignity, wellbeing and holistic development of pupils.
Candidates should be willing to engage in continuing professional development and undertake courses relevant to the needs of the pupils and the school. Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
