An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Joseph’s National School, Miltown Malbay invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the position of part-time Special Needs Assistant (16 hours/0.5 post)
• We are looking for someone who will be flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school.
• We are looking for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, will contribute to our team and work on his/her own initiative.
• Candidates must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children & the school.
• Experience of and/or, training in working with children with A.S.D, O.T, EBD, diabetes and medical care needs is desirable.
• Experience of the TEACCH and ABC approaches to intervention would be advantageous.
• The successful candidate will be asked to work a pattern of hours that best meets the needs of pupils in need of assistance.
• The successful candidate will be asked to provide evidence of courses attended and relevant qualifications.
