POST DETAILS
Additional Information:
St. Audoen's National School is a recently designated DEIS Plus primary school with a strong commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and trauma-informed practice. We are seeking a motivated, reflective and child-centred teacher to join our team as a Special Education Teacher (SET) on a fixed-term basis for the 2026/2027 school year.
This is an exciting time to join our school community. As a newly designated DEIS Plus school, we are entering a period of significant development, with enhanced staffing, reduced class sizes, increased professional learning opportunities and expanded supports designed to improve outcomes for all pupils.
The successful candidate will work as part of our inclusive support team, providing targeted teaching and intervention for pupils who require additional support in literacy, numeracy and other areas of learning. The role will involve planning and delivering engaging learning experiences for individuals and small groups of pupils, while collaborating closely with class teachers, Special Needs Assistants, families and other members of the school team.
At St. Audoen's, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where strong relationships, high expectations and pupil wellbeing are central to our work. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education, the ability to build positive relationships with children and families, and an understanding of differentiated teaching approaches that support pupils to make meaningful progress.
Experience of, or an interest in, literacy and numeracy interventions, Special Educational Needs, DEIS settings, trauma-informed practice, wellbeing initiatives or innovative approaches to supporting learners would be an advantage.
St. Audoen's offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant and rewarding school community where staff are valued, supported and encouraged to develop professionally. The successful applicant will play an important role in strengthening our inclusive practices and helping to shape the future of our growing DEIS Plus school.
We welcome applications from enthusiastic teachers who are passionate about ensuring that all children receive the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
