An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
School of the Divine Child is a specialist school catering for students aged 4–18 years who have multiple physical and complex medical needs. Our curriculum is fully adapted to meet the individual needs of our students. We are also a Droichead school, supporting newly qualified teachers.
Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• A strong understanding of the Primary Language Curriculum (PLC) and Primary Mathematics Curriculum (PMC)
• Familiarity with the Junior Cycle framework
• Knowledge of non-verbal communication strategies
• Experience in implementing positive behaviour management approaches
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
• A professional, flexible, self-motivated, and caring approach to the role
• High levels of motivation, enthusiasm, and energy, with a genuine passion for special education
• A commitment to supporting and developing the potential of all students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Previous experience working with or teaching students with SEN
