Additional Information:
St. Joseph’s Primary School for Children with Visual Impairment is a Special National School, designated by the Department of Education and Skills for children who are blind or have a significant visual impairment (VI). All children who attend St. Joseph’s have a confirmed medical diagnosis of a visual impairment which is their primary barrier to educational progress. Some of our pupils also have additional disabilities.
St. Joseph’s Primary School for Children with Visual Impairment aims to ensure that every pupil has access to a broad, balanced and appropriate curriculum which is suitably challenging and delivered with dignity. We recognise that each child is unique and should be given the opportunity to learn in an inclusive environment where ability, not disability, is central.
The post is for the 2026/27 school year:
1 x fix-term position (covering job share)
We are looking for a teacher who has a willingness to learn and an interest in educating a student with a visual impairment and additional needs. The candidate is required to have qualifications as per Department of Education & Skills circular 0044/2019. We are looking for a teacher who is inclusive, flexible and responsive to the needs of the students and the school.
St Joseph’s Primary School for Children with Visual Impairment is a supportive school which encourages continuous professional development. Prior experience of supporting students with complex special needs is desirable but not essential.
Please write ‘Teacher Application’ and your name on the subject of the e-mail. Please read and fulfil the requirements of this application in full, to ensure that your application will be considered.
