An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The bus escort will accompany pupils with additional needs on specialised bus transport from their homes to and from the school. An understanding of children with additional needs is important and the escort must have a caring disposition.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the children on board the bus and will be required to provide pupil care needs including, but not limited to, assisting the child getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etc.
The successful applicants hours are dependent on the length of the run and with the hours split between the morning and afternoon, 5 days per week.
The school is the collection and drop off point for the bus escort.
Bus routes and schedules are sanctioned and organised by the Transport Section of the Department of Education and Bus Eireann therefore the contract is subject to change should pupils change route , change from an infant day to a full day , join/leave the service or school.
Garda Vetting and A Form of Undertaking and a Statutory Declaration will also be required.
The vacant positions are part-time, term-time only.
Desirable Qualification or Experience:
- Working with pupils with additional needs
