An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

At St. Joseph's Primary School all the children have a visual impairment, and many have additional complex needs including physical, medical, behavioural and learning disabilities.

Experience with pupils with a visual impairment is desirable.

For school year 2026-2027, we have the following vacancies:
• 1 x full time fixed-term SNA position covering a career break
• 2 x full time fixed-term SNA positions covering job shares

All SNAs at our school must have a qualification in patient handling, including use of hoist, and experience in assisting children with personal care and mobility needs.

Duties can include assisting children with behavioural needs, with specialised feeding needs and with the administration of suctioning.

Applicants which are deemed to be a member of the supplementary panel must furnish a certified copy of completed Panel Form 1 (PF1) with their application.
