Additional Information:
The Board of Management of Holy Child Pre-school (Rutland Street Project) Roll Number 19361N invites applications for the permanent position of Principal. This is an open competition for all people who meet the criteria below.
Holy Child Pre-school was set up in 1969 by the Department of Education and Youth as an early intervention project. Its founding principle was to develop strategies to prevent school failure. The school is under the patronage of the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin and caters for 102 children age 3-5 years who reside in Dublin’s North Inner City, an area of social and educational disadvantage. Our staff consist of 6 mainstream class teachers (Primary trained) and one special class Teacher. Each mainstream class has the support of a childcare worker (QQI Level 2 minimum). Our special class for autistic pre-schoolers currently has three Special Needs Assistants for support. In 2009 the school moved to a new state of the art building in Dublin 1 and is co located with its sister school. In 2016 we opened a special class for autistic children (ASD Early Intervention Unit). We offer a two year programme where children are active agents in their own learning. We adhere to Aistear Curriculum Framework and we accept children of all abilities residing in the catchment area.
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Circular 0044/2019:
