Description:
The NCSE is now recruiting for the position of Visiting Teacher. Panels will be formed from which existing and future vacancies will be filled.
The Visiting Teacher Service for Children who are Deaf/ Hard of Hearing (VTDHH) and Children who are Blind/ Vision Impaired (VTBVI) form an integral part of the NCSE Support services. These services aim to develop schools’ capacity to include students with special educational needs and to promote a continuum of educational provision which is inclusive and responsive.
All applicants for this position must meet the following criteria:
These posts are open to all qualified teachers who hold a recognised post in a recognised Department of Education and Youth primary, post-primary or special school and are fully registered with the Teaching Council.
OR
Are on a current secondment from a recognised post in a Department of Education and Youth recognised primary, post-primary, special school and are fully registered with the Teaching Council.
AND
If qualified outside Ireland must already be registered with the Teaching Council as qualified to teach in special education settings
A minimum of five years satisfactory teaching service in a mainstream class and/or in a special school or special class setting is required.
An applicant must provide Teaching Council confirmation of registration.
An applicant must have a full Irish driver’s license and/or access to a car.
