Bunscoil Rís is a DEIS band 1 co-educational senior school with a Catholic ethos. The Board of Management invites applications for the position of Administrative Deputy Principal.
The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
In addition the following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are desirable:
• A proven ability to cultivate relationships with pupils, parents, staff members, Board of Management and the wider school community.
• A clear understanding and experience in DEIS, Nurture and Inclusion.
• A clear understanding of autism and the ability to manage five autism classes.
• Understanding and knowledge of the requirements associated with the provision of Special Education Needs.
• Ability to exercise flexibility and full involvement in the school, in partnership with the Principal, to meet the daily needs of the school.
• An understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration in a primary school setting.
• An understanding and a commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and an ability to support and promote school/parish links.
• Evidence of management and communication skills as well as evidence of the ability to foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, outside agencies and the wider community.
• Knowledge of the new Primary Curriculum and a range of teaching experience.
• Evidence of commitment to relevant and ongoing continuing professional development.
•Commitment to the implementation of recommended teaching and assessment practices at whole-school level.
