An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

John Scottus NS is currently looking for a bus escort for two routes to accompany and support pupils with Autism.

Clondalkin approx 4 Hours per day, 5 days a week (two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon during term time.)

Ringsend approx 3 Hours per day, 5 days a week (1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon during term time.)

The escort makes arrangements to meet the bus operator at the pick up point of the designated student and the escort is dropped back to that point afterwards.

We are also seeking to form a panel of escorts who would provide occasional substitute cover on these bus runs.

The hourly rate is €15.50. Holiday pay is 8%.

Bus escort duties will include:
- Escorting the pupils safely to and from school.
- Assisting the pupils to board and alight from the bus safely and ensuring the pupils are received by responsible adults at the set down points.
- Ensuring the pupils are seated and wearing a safety belt for the journey.

Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting requirements, completion of the Tusla Children First E-Learning Programme and verification of references.

Commencement Date as soon as possible once Garda Vetting is complete.
