Additional Information:
St. Joseph's is designated as a special school for students aged 5-18 years of age assessed as having Mild General Learning disability. Many of our students have additional difficulties such as Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and social and emotional behavioural difficulties. Candidates will be short listed for interview- THOSE APPLICANTS CALLED FOR INTERVIEW MUST HAVE SNA EXPERIENCE.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA for the post includes SNA experience in a special school setting, experience of working with students with Mild GLD, experience of working with students with autism, experience of working with students with challenging behaviour.
The successful candidates must have the ability to work as part of a team, in challenging situations in a positive child centred, co-operative and professional manner.
Experience in managing medical conditions such as Epilepsy and Diabetes in a school setting, use of LÁMH, visual supports/timetables and positive behaviour interventions such as CPI also desirable.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and vetting requirements
