Scoil Iósaf NS, Castlemartyr are seeking to appoint 2 taxi escorts for separate routes commencing on Monday 20th October. The escorts will accompany pupils on specialised transport (taxi) from their homes to and from school.

The successful applicant will be picked up by the taxi at the school in the morning, travel to the children's home to pick them up and accompany them to school. For afternoon drop off, the successful applicant will accompany the children from the school in the taxi, drop them off at home and the taxi will return the escort to the school.
One route will require two separate trips at home-time, one at the infant home-time (1.50pm) and one at the senior home-time(2.50pm). Both routes will commence at approximately 8am.

The escort is responsible for the safety of the pupil and will be required to assist them getting into and out of the taxi and securing appropriate seatbelts.

Experience working with children with autism is desirable. Candidates will be expected to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way, they will need to communicate regarding pick ups/drop offs, illnesses, traffic, delays etc.

Appointment is subject to garda vetting and appropriate character references. It is a requirement to hold a valid Statutory Declaration and to complete the Form of Undertaking for this position.

Salary is €15.66 per hour processed fortnightly during during school term time. One route will take approximately 3 hours a day and the other route will take approximately 2 hours a day.
