An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Gabriel’s is a Special School for 64 pupils aged 4–18 years with primary complex physical disabilities and/or complex medical needs. Many students also have moderate, severe, or profound learning disabilities.
Each class is supported by a highly skilled team, typically comprising one teacher and three Special Needs Assistants (SNAs), working collaboratively to meet the elevated care and educational needs of our students.
At St. Gabriel’s, we are committed to promoting every student’s right to communicate and access the curriculum. The school is actively embedding a Total Communication approach and expanding the use of assistive technology to support learning, participation, and belonging.
Experience in a special school setting is highly desirable, as is the ability to lead a team of SNAs and manage a programme of individualised student support.
Our school is located next to, and works closely with, the St. Gabriel’s Foundation, benefiting from strong links with therapy and clinical teams.
