Applications are invited for the position of Full Time (32 hours / 5 days) Special Needs Assistant (SNA) in Linn Dara Schools (Roll no. 19630O).
The post commences on Wednesday, 1st October 2025.
Linn Dara Schools are multi-denominational special hospital schools providing educational continuity to support recovery for pupils who are admitted to either Linn Dara CAMHS Approved Centre or attending the Linn Dara CAMHS Community Teams.
We have an inpatient and an outpatient school, both located within the Cherry Orchard Hospital Campus in Dublin 10.
The schools are under the patronage of the Health Service Executive (HSE).
Successful candidates would be expected to perform the full range of duties for an SNA, as outlined in Department of Education and Youth and National Council for Special Education (NCSE) guidelines.
Knowledge and experience of working with teenagers in a special school/special class is highly desirable.
The minimum required standard of education for appointment to the post of Special Needs Assistant is:
1. A FETAC level 3 major qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications,
OR
2. A minimum of three grade Ds in the Junior Certificate,
OR
3. Equivalent.
The post is subject to conditions of employment as set out by the Department of Education and Youth regulations, Patron approval, Garda Vetting, and candidates achieving a minimum standard at interview.
The appointment will also be subject to reference checks and Occupational Health Screening.
