The Board of Management of Sacred Heart School Westport invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Special Needs Assistant. Please note this is a maternity leave position from October 2025 to March 2026.
SHS Westport, a Catholic school under the patronage of CEIST, is guided by Christian values such as compassion, care for others, and a commitment to personal excellence. The school is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student is supported to thrive both academically and personally. In line with its inclusive ethos, SHS Westport has recently opened a dedicated class for students with autism, further reinforcing its commitment to personalised support and equal opportunities for all learners.
SNA’s play a central role in supporting the care needs of a range of students, including those with autism, emotional/behaviour difficulties, intellectual disabilities, etc.
The position is subject to the sanction of the NCSE, Department of Education and Board of Management. The post will be filled in accordance with DES guidelines, relevant Circular letters, Medical Fitness and Vetting Disclosure from National Vetting Bureau.
