Bus Escort Opportunity at Lawrencetown National School
Lawrencetown National School is seeking a reliable and compassionate Bus Escort for a new school transport route starting in Ballinasloe. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child with autism, in a happy and welcoming environment.
Route Schedule:
Morning: Departs Ballinasloe at 8:40 AM, returns by 10:00 AM.
Afternoon: Departs Ballinasloe at 2:20 PM, returns by 3:40 PM.
Daily Commitment: Approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes per day.
Contract Duration: 2-year period, providing stable employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and comfort of student during bus travel.
Support student with kindness and patience utilising the child's positive behaviour support plan.
Communicate effectively with parents, student, drivers, and school staff.
Candidate Requirements:
Strong communication skills and a caring demeanour.
Understanding of or willingness to learn about supporting children with autism.
Previous experience working with children or in a support role is preferred but not essential.
Successful candidates must complete Garda Vetting and the Tusla Children First course upon starting the role.
