An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

We are looking for an SNA who show interest in each of our student's educational and personal development. It is essential to have experience in a special education setting preferably in a special school and that the successful candidate will have the necessary skills to work with pupils who have complex profiles. This appointment requires somebody who demonstrates flexibility, is a team player, has a calm disposition, is confidence in dealing with behaviours that challenge, has supervision skills and shows initiative.
Experience in essential competencies include assistance with: personal hygiene/toileting; FEDS(feeding,eating,drinking and swallowing); hoisting, behaviours that challenge; Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Experience in the use of ipads, computer programmes, switches, interactive whiteboards and Lamh sign language is desirable

Preference will be given to candidates who have proven experience in the management of physically strong students with challenging behaviour. Short listing may apply.

A Panel of Applicants will be created to fill additional posts within the school namely:
Two fixed term positions full time for the school year 2025/2026 (Jobshare) and a third position covering a maternity in the 2025/2026 school year.

Experience in a special school and teaching students up to 18 yrs old is essential.
