The Board of Management of Sacred Heart School, Old Longford Road, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath invites applications for the position of Administrative Deputy Principal, commencing 1st September 2025.
Sacred Heart School is a special school for pupils aged 4-18 who have an intellectual diagnosis in the moderate to severe range and for pupils who may have an additional diagnosis of autism.
Sacred Heart School is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath. The successful candidate must hold a recognised qualification to teach religion in a Catholic primary school.
Sacred Heart School is a newly constructed special school with 8 classrooms along with the requisite specialist rooms and facilities. Sacred Heart School was previously known as St. Mary's School.
The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in the Department of Education Circular Letter 44/2019. These are
• Leading Teaching and Learning
• Managing the Organisation
• Leading School Development
• Developing Leadership Capacity
Applicants must be fully registered under Route 1 (Primary), Route 4 (Other) or Route 2 (Post-Primary) with the Teaching Council and have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school or post-primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
