An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Michael's NS has two permanent 0.83 (infant day) SNA positions available. This position will involve working closely with the class teacher/s and other SNA's in support of children with extra needs. The posts may require the successful candidiate/s to work in our AS Class, subject to the decision of the Principal and the changing needs of the school.
The ideal candidates should demonstrate a calm, empathetic and patient approach. Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills are essential, along with a flexible attitude and an openness to CPD. The successful applicants will be professional and trustworthy. They should be willing to work under the direction of the class teacher/s, work on their own initiative and display a strong work ethic.
Successful candidates will be expected to respect confidentiality at all times.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to, satisfactory references, current Garda vetting and OHS requirements.
