An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Stewarts School caters for students with moderate, severe and profound general learning disability and complex SEN, including autism, between the ages of five and eighteen years. Candidates are required to have the Junior Certificate or equivalent as a minimum requirement. Leaving Certificate and an additional qualification in special education, including autism or a related area is advantageous.

Duties are as outlined by Department of Education Circulars and include supporting students presenting with behaviours of concern. The following training/competencies are desirable: MAPA, Manual Handling; Dysphagia, Lámh and competency in the swimming pool. Experience of special school setting, autistic students and regulation strategies is advantageous.

The school is recruiting to fill five permanent positions and four fixed term positions.
