An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Rosedale School provides an educational service for pupils aged 3 to 18 years with severe and profound learning disabilities in Galway City. Many of our pupils also present with significant physical disabilities, complex medical needs, autism and behaviours of concern.
Applications are being invited for the posts of 3 Permanent Teaching positions and 1 fixed-term position. Also being considered is a Maternity leave post. Rosedale School is a highly specialised and challenging educational environment requiring substantial experience, emotional resilience and a strong commitment to special education. Rosedale School offers the Primary Curriculum and Junior Cycle Level One at present. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to support the unique and complex needs of our pupils and their families. Rosedale School is a partnership school and the successful candidate will be required to collaborate closely with nursing staff, SNA’s and multi-disciplinary teams.
Applicants should have experience in teaching pupils with severe to profound intellectual disabilities, managing behaviours of concern, implementing regulation strategies and behaviour support plans. Team work, flexibility, excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be essential.
Preference will also be given to candidates who have proven experience in the use of augmentative communication and assistive technologies and educational apps. Knowledge and experience of PECS, TEACCH, LAMH visual supports and timetables is advantageous. Experience in supporting physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational therapy, toileting, hygiene, and personal care routines will also be an advantage.
Applicants should be available for Haddington Road hours on 28th and 29th August
