POST DETAILS
Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The two SNA positions comprise of two part time (0.83, Infant day) positions.
The two positions will include the appropriate hours required under the Croke Park agreement for SNAs.
Applicants who are members of the Supplementary Panel must furnish a certified copy of completed Panel form 1 (PF1) with their application.
Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as per Department of Education Guidelines.
Successful candidates will need to be flexible, be able to show initiative, maintain the strictest confidentiality and be willing to upskill as needed. They will also need be able to work as part of a team and under the direction of the principal & teachers.
To meet the needs of the school the following competencies are desirable:
• Knowledge and experience of working with children with ASD and/or complex needs
• Experience of working with children with behaviours of concern and promotion of positive behaviour strategies
• Evidence of CPD in the area of Special Needs in relation to education
• Child protection training and certification
• Candidates must be able to work well within a team, display a strong work ethic, be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to, satisfactory references, current Garda Vetting and OHS.
Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited to interview via email.
The duties of the post may be subject to change and is at the discretion of the Principal.
