An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Peter’s National School is a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, committed to the holistic development of all students. We are currently inviting applications for two Special Needs Assistant (SNA) positions, each covering Junior Infant hours (0.83 post).
These roles have been created to support the establishment of our first Special Class for children with Autism, opening for the 2025/2026 school year.
Essential/Desirable Criteria:
• Ideally, candidates will have completed a QQI Level 6 SNA qualification.
• Previous experience working as an SNA, particularly in special education settings, is desirable.
• Applicants should demonstrate confidence and competence in supporting pupils in both Mainstream and Special Class environments.
• A strong commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and ongoing professional development is essential. Staff development and rotation are important elements of our school culture.
Additional Opportunity – Bus Escort Role:
We are also advertising for a Bus Escort position.
