Scoil Bernadette is a co-educational post-primary special school, which caters for the needs of students aged 12 – 18 years with mild general learning disabilities. The aim of the school staff is to provide a secure, caring and supportive environment, through the provision of post-primary social, personal, academic, vocational and relevant life skill programmes.
Many students present with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD,
Emotional/Behavioural, medical and physical etc. Successful candidates would be expected to perform the normal range of duties for a SNA as set out in DES and NCSE guidelines. Knowledge and experience of working with teenagers in a special school/class is desirable.
We are seeking to employ 1 SNA for 0.5 of a post. This is a job share position with another SNA in the school.
The appointments are subject to Department of Education sanction, Patron approval, reference checks, Garda Vetting and the candidates achieving a minimum standard at interview.
Please note that candidates who are interviewed may be placed on a panel for up to four months from which future vacancies may be filled as they arise.
