An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This is a fixed-term, teaching Deputy Principal role and the appointment will be made via open competition in accordance with Circular 0044/2019. The successful applicant will demonstrate capacity in the following four domains of leadership and management:
- Leading Teaching and Learning
- Managing the Organisation
- Leading School Development
- Developing Leadership Capacity
Desirable criteria include:
- A commitment to the Catholic ethos and to fostering an inclusive, respectful school environment
- Proven leadership and teamwork skills, ideally within a small-school context
- Strong knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and extensive experience of multi-grade teaching, particularly in the junior room (Infants to 2nd Class)
- Familiarity with DEIS planning, school self-evaluation, and policy development
- A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
Your application must also be accompanied by the contact details of a minimum of 3 professional references. Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications, Teaching Council registration and teaching practice grades.
Appointment will be subject to Teaching Council Registration, current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
