An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Scoil Chormaic Special School invites applications from qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated teachers for 4 fixed-term full-time Special Education classroom teaching positions, commencing on 28th August 2025. We are seeking a candidate who can contribute to the overall development and ethos of the school.
Essential Criteria:
• Recognised Primary Teaching Qualification.
• Hold a Certificate to Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school.
• Registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland, with qualifications listed under the appropriate route for primary teaching.
• A genuine interest in and commitment to working with students with additional educational needs.
Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience in a Special Education setting.
• Training or CPD in areas such as, autism, behavioural support, literacy/numeracy intervention.
•Experience working with pupils with behaviours of concern and training in the area of positive behaviour support is an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a committed and dynamic school team.
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
Additional Information:
• Garda Vetting will be required in accordance with DES regulations.
• Appointment is subject to current and future Department of Education & Skills requirements and approval.
•The duties of the post may be subject to change and is at the discretion of the Principal.

Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications, Teaching Council registration and teaching practice grades.
