An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Oliver's Special School caters for children with moderate and severe to profound intellectual disabilities. Experience teaching in a special school setting will be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate should demonstrate experience and competency in augmentative communication and assisted teaching technologies for pupils with intellectual disabilities, demonstrate the ability to lead a class team, have experience in coordinating Individual Education Plans, working from behavioural support plans and managing behaviours that challenge.
Training in the following is hugely beneficial: PECS, Lámh, TEACCH, CPI, FEDS and Manual Handling.
St. Oliver's Special School currently has three teaching posts advertised:
- one fixed term job share post
- two maternity leave posts
