St. Patrick's JNS is a Catholic Junior co-educational DEIS Band 1 school (Early Start class to 2nd class), under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin.
St. Patrick’s is a diverse, inclusive and progress school community.
The school consists of 10 mainstream classes, an Early Start class as well as an autism class. The school will open a second class in September 2025.
The school is currently awaiting the completion of a new school build. It is anticipated that the new building will be commissioned in the first term of the 2025-2026 school year.
It is expected that applicants will have a clear understanding of and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school. Applicants must hold a certificate to teach Religious Education.
The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in Circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
• An in-depth knowledge of the Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead teaching and learning.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team.
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum, including a range of teaching experience and high level of understanding of SEN, EAL inclusion and differentiation.
• Experience in policy development.
• Ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in the school.
• A proven experience in prioritising, planning and policy development.
• A commitment to continuing and relevant professional development.
