An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Ballina Primary School invites applications for four fixed-term teaching positions as follows:
1 fixed-term temporary teacher on career break
1 fixed-term temporary teacher on secondment
2 fixed-term temporary teachers on job share
The successful candidate may be assigned to a mainstream class or a special education teaching post- the final decision on assignment will be determined in line with school needs and priorities. Initial duties may be subject to change as required by the school.
Ballina Primary School has a Primary Support Team (PST) to facilitate the Droichead process for NQTs.
Essential Minimum Requirements:
Applications by email only. Applications by post or other means will not be accepted.
Applicants must provide the contact details for a minimum of 3 professional referees (mobile numbers required).
A standard application form must be used.
Candidates must show a willingness to work as part of a team, be flexible, display a strong work ethic and demonstrate a willingness to avail of and share continuous professional development.
Experience of working with children with complex needs in a mainstream setting should be evident.
Experience in music (choir and music groups), STEM, involvement in coaching team sports advantageous.
Applications received after 3pm on the 13th of June 2025 will not be considered.
Only those shortlisted for interview will be contacted. All invitations to interview will be made by email.
Any canvassing will disqualify without exception.
